Sorry that this may be a short blog. It may be insignificant to you, as well. Again, sorry.
I was watching television the other day and the person speaking referred to himself as “Little Me”. All of my family referred to me as Little Debbie my entire life. They called me that because, I was little. They were older than me and for awhile, I was the baby. Therefore, I was “Little Debbie.” It had nothing to do with the snack. When my brother was born, he was called “Little Phil.” Well, the prefix stuck with the both of us.
I learned to call myself “Little Me.” You know how parents have their stories that they like to tell everyone they meet (over and over)? Well one that he liked to tell was that when they were ready to go anywhere I would hold up my arms (to be picked up) and I would say, “Daddy, take little me.” He, being a father and being biased, thought it was very cute. He repeatedly told the story. He often called me “Little Me” as well as “Little Debbie” (among other things. Haha).
Hearing that person on the television reminded me of this. I am happy to have that memory. I was happy to have it brought up so that I did remember it. I can still see his dark, beautiful eyes twinkle and his smile light up his face.
Hang on to your memories. They are the greatest gift. Hopefully I brought a memory to your mind. Share it in the comments if you would like to.
